Residents Evening 2013 - Queen Street Quarter

Residents Evening 2013

Last week we celebrated Christmas at our annual Residents Evening! Hosted brilliantly by our friends at Chutney Ivy on Halford Street, we enjoyed a great evening of food and drink with tenants, guests and members of the Queen Street Team. To see the photos from the evening, click here. We also used the evening as an opportunity to present a charitable donation to a friend of Queen Street.

Harry Butterworth, the Queen Street Apartments architect, took on a massive challenge in the summer of this year. He was one of 16,500 cyclists who chose to take part in the London 100; a 100 mile bike ride from Surrey to London to raise money for various charitable foundations.

Harry decided to ride in aid of Prostate Cancer UK and the team at Queen Street wanted to contribute and do their bit to sponsor him by donating money to what we think is such a great cause. He was presented with a cheque at our Residents Evening, on behalf of everyone here. To make a donation to Prostate Cancer UK click here.

Aside from presenting Harry with his sponsorship cheque, the evening was also a great way for tenants to get to know each other better, as well as a being a good opportunity for our team to get more involved with the Queen Street community.

We were joined by our on-site maintenance team, who are available on a day to day basis for repairs and maintenance through-out the building. They ensure any problems are resolved ASAP and are a great asset to the Queen Street community.

Local Celeb at Queen Street!

In other news, a Queen Street tenant made the news yesterday! Matthew Fearon appeared in the Leicester Mercury after being selected to sing the Keane song, “Somewhere Only We Know”, on the John Lewis advert on Christmas Day. The song was re-released this year after it appeared on the famous commercials. Matthew entered the competition after being spotted by John Lewis staff and will record his version of the track in a London studio before it is played alongside the advert on Christmas Day. To hear him play live, make your way to John Lewis in Leicester on the 18th, 19th and 20th from noon until 5pm. Congratulations Matthew!

This week we were also lucky enough to find ourselves at nearby Athena, where Leicester girl and X Factor contestant Sam Bailey played an amazing homecoming gig before the final this Saturday night. Click here to see the photos from the night. Massive good luck to Sam from all of us here at Queen Street Apartments!

We would also like to take this opportunity to wish all of our tenants a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year from all the team here at Queen Street Apartments! We look forward to welcoming all our new tenants in 2014.
